  • Description

Plains Coreopsis (Coreopsis tinctoria) is a clumping annual (blooming up to 3 years) that regularly self-seeds, maintaining a full appearance. It is particularly attractive in mass plantings as it does best when crowded. It grows naturally in prairie, plains, meadows, pastures, roadsides, and pond banks. The flowers are a brilliant yellow with reddish-brown centers, and the extended bloom time (summer through frost) makes it a good nectar source for native pollinators.
