  • Description

Sensitive Fern (Onoclea sensibilis) is a unique looking, colony-forming fern, mainly found in moist woodlands. An attractive addition to any shaded native garden. Also known as bead fern, it puts out a shoot containing bead-like spores. Sensitive fern provides good shelter to frogs and salamanders. The “sensitive” part of it’s name derives from it’s sensitivity to frost. In the right conditions however, it will return year after year.
