  • Description

Short-Toothed Mountain Mint (Pycnanthemum muticum) is an aromatic perennial that prefers average to moist, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. When crushed, the dark green leaves release a strong spearmint aroma, making it deer and rabbit resistant. The small pink flowers that appear from July to September form a dense, flat-topped cluster and are attractive to butterflies and bees. The blooms themselves are not showy, but they are surrounded by two silvery bracts. The slivery sheen of this clump forming perennial provides an attractive contrast the the darker greens found in most gardens.
