Sassafras is an ornamental, small to medium sized deciduous tree. Its known for having three different leaf shapes, ovate, mitten-shaped and tri-lobed. They have attractive clusters of green-yellow flowers, male and female being separate trees. Can be kept as a single stem tree or allow root suckers to grow and from a large shrub appearance. Sassafras can be used to makes teas, and a flavoring for root beer. It has beautiful yellow, purple, and red fall foliage.
