Description
Red Buckeye is a flowering small tree, growing from 10 to 20′, and makes for a great addition to any yard. In spring it develops bright red blooms, perfect for attracting hummingbirds. In the wild they usually grow in wooded valleys, bluff bases, and along streams, so try not to plant them in too dry of a spot or you may get leaf scorching. These trees have some interesting uses, for example soap may be made from the roots, however its seeds are toxic if ingested.
